Introducing a twist on a family favorite. Enjoy a festive French toast bake made with rich egg nog, giving it a creamy and indulgent flavor.
SERVES: 16
¼ cup melted butter
2 cans of cinnamon rolls
6 eggs
½ cup egg nog
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup maple syrup
Icing
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 tablespoons egg nog
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Pour ¼ cup melted butter into a 9 x 13” baking pan. Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut them each into 8 pieces.
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs. Add in the ½ cup egg nog, cinnamon, nutmeg, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Mix until completely combined. Pour over the cinnamon rolls. Add the chopped pecans and maple syrup. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 10-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the icing. Combine the 2 tablespoons melted butter, powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and 4 tablespoons egg nog in a bowl. Mix until smooth. Pour over the warm French toast bake.
